If any of this sounds like you, keep reading
- You've had these bumps since you were a kid, and somebody told you you'd grow out of it. You didn't.
- Your arms feel like sandpaper about an hour after you moisturize
- There's a drawer in your bathroom full of half-used KP creams that worked for two weeks.
- The acid scrubs left you red, stinging, and peeling, and somehow still bumpy.
- You reach for your sleeves in photos without even thinking about it anymore.
- It's spreading. It used to be just your arms. Now it's your thighs, and you've started checking other places.
- Every winter it gets worse, and the only thing that ever really helped was a summer tan.
You're not imagining it, and you're not being vain. About 40% of adults have this, and most of them have been told there's nothing to be done.
Most Bumpy Skin products only do half the job
Bumpy skin is two problems at once. Keratin plugs the hair follicle, which makes the bump. And the skin around it is dry, which makes more keratin build up faster. Fix one and ignore the other and you end up right back where you started. That's the cycle you've been stuck in.

Acid scrubs strip you
Lactic, glycolic, and salicylic acid do break down plugs. They also break down your skin barrier if you have sensitive skin. Red, tight, stinging skin makes more keratin, not less. That's why aggressive exfoliating so often backfires. -
Lotion is mostly water
Flip your body lotion around and read the first ingredient. It's water. You're paying for water that evaporates in twenty minutes and leaves your skin drier than before. That's why it feels great in the bathroom and rough again by lunch. -
Nobody tells you the order
Exfoliating without moisturizing dries you out. Moisturizing without exfoliating just coats the bumps. It has to be both, in that order, consistently. That's the entire reason we sell these two together instead of separately.
Two steps. About 3 minutes. In the shower you're already taking.
-
STEP ONE — IN THE SHOWER
Wet the area, work the bar over your arms, thighs or wherever you have bumps for about 30 seconds each. Rinse. Start with 3 times a week and work up. Body only, not your face.
A cold-process bar with medium-grit apricot kernel and pink Himalayan salt worked through it. The grit is coarse enough to physically lift the keratin plugs and fine enough that it doesn't shred your skin doing it. Honey and chamomile powder keep it calm while it works. It's built on organic olive, coconut, sunflower and sustainably sourced palm oil, so it cleans without the squeaky, stripped feeling you get from a detergent body wash. Lemongrass, eucalyptus and cedarwood essential oils are the only thing it's scented with.
-
STEP TWO — RIGHT AFTER, ON DAMP SKIN
Warm the balm between your hands and press it into damp skin straight out of the shower. A little goes further than you think. Safe for your face.
This is the balm people already buy from us for eczema, and it's here for a reason. Exfoliated skin is open skin. If you don't put the lipids back immediately, you've just made your skin drier, and dry skin is what builds the bumps in the first place.
It's anhydrous, meaning there's no water in it at all. Mango butter, beeswax, apricot kernel oil, coconut oil, jojoba and colloidal oatmeal, and that's it. No water means no filler, no preservatives, and a lot more of what your skin actually wants per ounce. It melts on contact with body heat and absorbs in without leaving you greasy.
